Chelsea Flower Show

I was fortunate to be in London the same time as the annual Chelsea Flower show was being held. Not only an overwhelming display of every flower in creation, but gorgeous garden furniture, sculptures, topiaries and endless ideas for small and large outside spaces . After walking solidly for six hours around the exhibition,I think ? I may have seen it all. Weeks and weeks of work is put into this show and it is quite amazing, living trees and large plants are brought in for the event, thousands of cut flowers - maybe more than thousands! I took many many photos and have chosen some that portray the varied aspects of the show.

Lovely London-"Anthropologie"and Portobello Road

Whilst in London I was trying to find my way to Harrods, took a wrong turn and ended up on Sloan Street where Anthropologie sprung up in front of me ! I had always wondered about this beautiful store, and took some photos through their front window ( instore photos definitely not allowed !)The beautiful leadlight windows, tiled entrance and artistic window displays did not disappoint.

Portobello Road Market was one of my favourite places in London. It is held every Saturday in NottingHill, and takes hours to wander through the stalls that go forever. You can find anything from antiques, vintage clothing, bags, shoes, flowers and plants and the most beautiful fruit and vegies.

This shop in Portobello Road does not sell sewing machines ! It is a clothing store, and every table, shelf and clothing rack is vintage industrial, with scrubbed pine floors to give the appearance of a clothing factory.

This stall specialised in silverware, one of everything !

Photos from London and Paris

Apologies for nothing from Rose Harvest for the last four weeks!!! I have just returned from a very inspiring visit to London and Paris, and hope the following photos bring the sense of ambience and antiquity for as far as the eye can see.
The houses, the shops and markets, gardens, cobbled pathways, and fresh blooms everywhere ( not a single faux plant or silk flower to be seen ) are amazing, and I found myself photographing store windows and displays of impeccable taste absolutely everywhere I went. These are the Paris photos, including St.Paul,Versailles,Montmarte,Moulin Rouge and my favourite place - the Cligancourt Markets in Northern Paris.

Everything you could possibly want and more at the open air Cligancourt Markets, where permanent stalls are housed in roller door front sheds, open Saturday to Mondays.

This French antique settee is priced at the equivalent of $3500.00 , we have an identical one for $1495.00!!

A little bit of Rose Harvest everywhere I looked !!
